An Abundance of Challenges

by Marilyn Rhoads, OCW Program Coordinator

Davis Bunn describes his life as “an abundance of challenges.” Touted as a wise teacher, gentleman adventurer, consummate writer, and Renaissance man, Davis is an internationally acclaimed author who has sold more than six million books in 16 different languages. He describes himself as equal parts writer, scholar, teacher, and sportsman.

Davis left his childhood home in North Carolina at 20 to attend school in London. He completed his graduate studies in economics and finance and traveled to more than 40 countries during the course of business in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

While living in Germany, at age 28, Davis found Christ. He ran an international business advisory group at the time. Two weeks later, he began writing. For more than 30 years, writing has been both a passion and a calling.

Davis’s first publication was contracted after the completion of seven books and nine years of serious writing. All the while he maintained his intense traveling schedule. The Presence released in 1990 and became a national bestseller.

Honored with three Christy Awards for excellence in historical and suspense fiction, Davis is a sought-after writing instructor and keynote speaker. He serves as Writer in Residence at Regent’s Park College, Oxford University.

Wikipedia lists fifty-eight of his titles including those under Davis’s pen name, Thomas Locke. His writing covers three separate genres: historical sagas, contemporary thrillers, and inspirational gift books. Watch for Davis’s movie release, Unlimited.
