Oregon Christian Writers celebrates its Golden Anniversary One-Day Spring Conference by featuring two keynote speakers: Sally Stuart and Melody Carlson. Sally Stuart has been writing for 45 years, full-time for the last 28. She is the founder of The Christian Writers’ Market Guide, the only market guide that specifically targets the Christian market, and published 26 editions before selling it to Jerry Jenkins. Sally has published a dozen other books and has written an untold number of articles and professional columns. She serves as the Q & A columnist for Christian Communicator, Oregon Christian Writers, and the Ozark Christian Writers. She is considered a leading authority on the business side of Christian publishing. Her latest project is a perpetual calendar for writers.
Melody Carlson has been writing professionally for 20 years. She has more than 200 books published and sales in excess of six million. She has also been published in 20 foreign languages. She says she “always loved writing,” she “just never dreamed” she could make a career of it. She started “one book at a time, one step at a time, one day at a time,” and established an avid readership and a professional writing career. She has recently been honored with the Romantic Times Career Achievement Award. Melody hopes to continue writing for the next 20 years.
