This year, Oregon Christian Writers will be celebrating our Golden Anniversary of 50 years of encouraging faith and excellence in writing. As part of the celebration, we are sponsoring our first-ever OCW Cascade Writing Contest, with the Cascade Awards to be presented during our OCW Summer Conference. The Summer Conference, which features top professionals in the field of Christian writing and publication, will be held this year at the Jantzen Beach Red Lion in Portland, OR August 12-15, 2013.
The contest is open to all writers who are in agreement with OCW Statement of Faith; please see the Contest Rules for details. You do not need to be an OCW member to enter. Contestants need not be present at Summer Conference to win.
“Contests are a great way to get your work known and get feedback from professionals. Finalists will have their work read by top Christian publishing house editors and agents.” Lindy Jacobs, OCW Summer Conference Director
The Cascade Writing Contest is for published and unpublished writers, and features a number of categories and genres. It is our hope that the contest will not only reward excellent writing, but will also encourage both seasoned and emerging writers, as well as providing a valuable reference for a writer’s resume.
