The apostle Paul, who was a very prolific writer, understood that feeling. That’s one reason he told the church at Galatia “not to become weary in doing good” (Galatians 6:9 NIV). Their words to others mattered. Besides, Paul certainly had reason to become weary of telling God’s truth since the reward for his ministry was often beatings and imprisonment.

Paul was unique because, despite it all, he was in-your-face honest. No BOTOX® or cosmetic surgery to smooth out his messages. To show and tell Jesus truthfully was his number one priority. As a result, he was down but never out. Father, may he be our role model.

He was unique, but then so are we. After all, no one on earth is exactly like us. Our backgrounds, personalities, life experiences, and combination of gifts make us one of a kind. That’s no surprise to You, Lord. You created us that way.

So our words do matter. If God has called us to write, burying our talent is not an option. Besides, “at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9 NIV). What better
