OCW Business

Tax Status and Updates
by Sue Miholer, OCW Business Manager

I have put off submitting my column, hoping to be able to report that the IRS has granted us 501(c)(3) status as a charitable nonprofit corporation. We were to receive word one way or the other around the first of September but have heard nothing so far. Stay tuned.

Please note that the date near your name and address on the last page [of your printed newsletter] indicates the date your membership expired or is set to expire. If there is no date, our records do not show you as a member. You can use the registration form in this newsletter to renew or join for the first time even if you are unable to attend the October conference. Or you can go to www.oregonchristianwriters.org/membership to renew or join online.

We currently have 360 members. Not only do members get a significant discount for conferences, they also receive a monthly e-newsletter with information that is not available to the other 500+ recipients of our print newsletter, which is published three times a year in conjunction with our one-day conferences.

Our new fiscal year begins October 1, and we are set to end the current fiscal year on a high note.
