Entry deadline: March 31st

  • Entry fees: Members—$35 for published books; $30 for all other entries
  • Nonmembers—$45 for published books; $40 for all other entries

Submission: All entries EXCEPT published books should be sent electronically

All entries:

  • Completed electronic entry form for each submission
  • Paid contest entry fee for each submission
  • Entry is in English

Unpublished Entries:  (Author never published in this genre before)

  • Include no art or illustrations
  • Generate in proper format:
  • 12-point Times or Times New Roman
  • Double-spaced
  • One-inch margins
  • Paragraphs indented a half-inch (not five spaces)
  • Three asterisks for scene breaks
  • Manuscript title (not author’s name)  and category at top left and page number top right
  • Make certain your name appears nowhere on manuscript
  • Adhere to word counts listed in rules for your category
  • Book submissions contain one-page, single-spaced synopsis, no lines between    paragraphs
  • Subject line of submission email identifies your last name, category entered, and whether it’s published or unpublished.
  • Submit electronically by 11:59 p.m. March 31 to cascade@oregonchristianwriters.org

Published Articles, Devotionals, Poems, and Other Short Entries:

  • Black out name on article, blog post, poems, or other entries
  • Scan piece in its published state and save as a pdf or jpg
  • Include name of publication, publication date, and title of piece
  • Subject line of submission email identifies your last name, category entered, and whether it’s published or unpublished.
  • Submit electronically by 11:59 p.m. March 31 to cascade@oregonchristianwriters.org

Published Print Book Entries:

  • Gather three copies of the hard-copy book for each entry
  • Make sure copyright date is 2015
  • Include return address on package
  • Mail to Cascade Writing Contest, P.O. Box 719, Pleasant Hill, OR 97455
  • Make sure entry is postmarked by March 31

Published E-Books:

  • Make sure copyright date is 2015
  • Prepare a link where judges can access e-book in any format at no cost
  • Or mail three printed copies of your book to Cascade Writing Contest, P.O. Box 719, Pleasant Hill, OR 97455
  • Include return address on package
  • Make sure entry is postmarked by March 31

 

Note: Do not include any entry paperwork or payment with printed books you mail.
